Job Summary:
The Martial Arts Instructor is responsible for providing high-quality coaching and instruction in various martial arts disciplines to individuals of all ages and skill levels. The instructor will develop and implement training programs, create lesson plans, and ensure a safe and inclusive environment for participants. The incumbent will demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for martial arts.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct martial arts classes, workshops, and training sessions in accordance with established curriculum and guidelines.
2. Instruct participants in proper techniques, forms, stances, and movements of martial arts disciplines.
3. Assess individual skill levels and provide personalized feedback and guidance to help participants improve their techniques and performance.
4. Develop and implement training programs designed to enhance participants' physical fitness, flexibility, strength, and agility.
5. Create lesson plans that align with the curriculum and cater to the diverse needs and abilities of participants.
6. Maintain a safe and controlled environment during training sessions, emphasizing proper safety measures and injury prevention techniques.
7. Monitor and evaluate participants' progress, providing ongoing support and motivation to help them achieve their martial arts goals.
8. Stay updated with the latest trends, techniques, and advancements in martial arts and incorporate them into the training programs.
9. Collaborate with other coaches and instructors to ensure consistency in teaching methodologies and program standards.
10. Foster a positive and inclusive training atmosphere that promotes sportsmanship, respect, discipline, and teamwork among participants.
11. Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, rules, and regulations during training sessions.
12. Assist in organizing and coordinating martial arts events, competitions, and demonstrations as required.
13. Maintain accurate records of participant attendance, progress, and achievements.
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Martial Arts Instructor, preferably in a coaching capacity.
2. Expertise in one or multiple martial arts disciplines such as Karate, Taekwondo, Judo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, or similar styles.
3. Strong knowledge and understanding of martial arts techniques, principles, and philosophy.
4. Possess relevant certifications and qualifications in martial arts instruction or coaching.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate instructions and provide constructive feedback effectively.
6. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals of diverse age groups and skill levels, including children, adults, and competitive athletes.
7. Ability to motivate and inspire participants, fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
8. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to plan and execute training sessions and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
9. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish professional relationships with participants, parents, and staff.
10. First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
11. Must pass a background check and adhere to all safety and security guidelines.
12. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as per training and event schedules.
